Magid Family Beach Week

What a fun week!  As all fun weeks go I feel like it came and went way too fast but I'm so glad we got to spend a week with my family at one of my favorite places in the world - the beach!  I have so many fond family memories from all our trips to Destin and Panama City as a little girl and it's so nice to be able to continue that tradition with all my brothers and our growing families.  I know my mom and dad were in heaven having all of us together - although we all missed my brother Ryan and Meghan.

We love Abuela and Grandfather!

Sophia was much more alert this time at the beach and didn't want to miss a thing!

Little swimmer - she loved splashing in the pool and kicking her little feet in the water

Higher daddy!  Higher!

Sophia finally wore her shades!

Alex loved hanging out with Sophia and really wants a baby sister :)

Alex's hugs all week never got old.  Love that boy!

4 Generations
It was nice to have my grandmother there as well and see her playing with all her great grandkids.  I'm so lucky to still have my grandmother around and glad I'll be able to remind Sophia one day of all the time she got to spend with her.

We couldn't have asked for better weather and it was a much needed and enjoyable week of sunshine and family time.  So thankful for the break from reality and glad we'll be able to see everyone again in a few weeks at Ryan and Meghan's wedding in Savannah.

Sophia 6 months

Little pumpkin is growing like a weed.  At her check up this month she had grown to 25 1/4 inches (60 percentile) and is 14 lbs 6 oz (17 %).

@ 6 months old Sophia:

  • has 2 adorable front teeth (on the bottom)
  • eats really well!  Has tried Oatmeal and Rice cereal, squash, pears, sweet potato (loves this one), apples, bananas, carrots (loves this too)
  • sleeps through the night! (woo hoo! hope I don't ginx us)  We typically put her down between 7:30-8:30 and she sleeps until 7
  • loves her jumperoo and activity saucer
  • loves all musical toys
  • can grip a spoon and put it in her mouth
  • has started to shriek a little bit - not a good thing
  • sings and coos to herself in the crib in the morning when she's waiting on mommy to come get her
  • is almost crawling
  • can sit up for a second before falling over
  • has enough hair for mommy to put little bow clips in
  • is so curious about everything going on around her

what's that mommy?
love her nap hair
Love this girl!

Washington, DC

We've taken so many pictures since Sophia was born that my computer wouldn't allow me to upload one more.  I finally backed up some old pictures and took them off the computer to free up space so I could upload our trip pictures so these posts come a little late.

The last week of August Trey and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary.  I noticed the week before that our anniversary fell close to the Labor Day weekend so in a spontaneous last minute decision we decided to hit the road and planned a fun trip to a place Trey had been saying he wanted to visit.  Little did we know that we would be visiting DC on one their hottest weekends this year and Sophia would cut another tooth while we were there - yea that was fun... not!  But all in all despite the heat, our poor baby's melt down in the National Archives from her little tooth, and the Dawgs loosing to those little cats in South Carolina that weekend, we had such a good time!

We flew up Friday afternoon and were non stop for two and half days straight.  It makes me laugh to look at some of the pictures we took because Sophia was asleep a lot of the time in front of some of our nation's most famous landmarks.  She obviously won't remember the trip but at least we have proof we took her ;)  We'll definitely have to go back one day because there is just so much history there and so much to do.  It's such a fun city and it's neat how you can get into every place for free!  Guess our tax dollars finally paid off.
