Road Trip- Carolina Cup

This weekend Trey and I had fun hanging out with friends at the Carolina Cup in Camden, South Carolina. We drove up on Friday afternoon to stay out our friend Lisa's parent's house outside of Columbia. Their house was beautiful and sat on a peninsula- literally. It was so serene. There was plenty of room for all of us and it was fun just lounging around and catching up.

Then Saturday we headed to the races. We set up a tailgate at our awesome parking spot on the front row next to the course and just camped out. It was a beautiful day (minus the wind) and we enjoyed spending time with everyone and watching the races. It's not exactly the Kentucky Derby, but it's still fun and I got to wear a big hat!

The Weekly Post & a Vote...

So, as many of you know I've had more than enough time on my hands lately... A little too much time if you ask me and I've been going a little stir crazy. While nothing is set in stone I've been toying with the idea of starting my own company- a wedding planning consulting company to be exact. I know it's not exactly what I went to school for... at all... but hey, the economy tanked, the idea festering in the back of my mind for years reemerged and I've been thinking lately- what the heck. I've got nothing to lose right? We'll see.

Anyway, I thought I'd put this idea to a vote to see what you guys thought of the names for the company. Here are my top choices (keep in mind I'd like to keep the option open to potentially do more than wedding planning- like corporate events perhaps, so I'm trying to avoid a name that limits itself to weddings:
1. South City Charmed Events
2. South City Creative Events
3. Atlanta Stargazing Creative Events,
4. Southern Belle Charmed Events, or
5. Cinderella's Attic Creative Events.

Oh, and here's the latest of the house (which now also has a paved driveway and walkway to the front door).

House Update

It's painted! (and this picture is a little bit clearer than the last one) Not sure if I care for the color, but I hope I love it once the trim is painted. It just seems so much darker than what we were going for, but it's hard to tell when you make your selections at the design center looking only at a little sample color wheel.

It's a work in progress...

Trey and I are so excited about our new house! We are expected to close on May 14th and can't wait to move in. It's amazing how fast they are building in that neighborhood. Trey went by last Monday and it was just a slab. By Wednesday they already had the roof on and I drove by today and saw they already put up cedar shake and stone on the exterior. We're supposed to meet with the builder tomorrow and they should be putting in the walls by next week.

I caved...

So... here it is in a nutshell: We met at the best college in the world, the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!) five and half years ago and fell in love. 3 months later girl moved to Spain to study abroad, boy couldn't get over her and came to visit. Boy and girl traveled through Spain and fell more in love. Boy waited for girl and girl came home to the US just in time for boy to graduate college and leave. Then boy moved to Atlanta to work in commercial real estate, girl stayed in Athens to become a lawyer (maybe... umm... yea... we'll get there). Boy and girl stayed in love for 3 more years apart, boy proposed on a yacht in Florida (very romantic), girl and boy were very excited and planned a wedding. Girl graduated law school, moved home to Atlanta, boy and girl got married in August 2009, went to Hawaii, and moved into their first apartment. Girl got a job at a law firm, took the bar, boy and girl bought a house and are having fun planning for the big move and living the happy life of the young and foolish. The end.

And now the blogging begins...
