Sophia's 1st Birthday!

Saturday our little baby girl turned 1!!!  What an amazing year it has been!  Adjusting to life with a baby has been no small feat but Trey and I have loved every minute and can't imagine our lives without our little princess.  We love her so much and she brings such joy to every moment of every day.  We are blessed to be her parents and can't wait to see what life has in store for her and what journey lies ahead for all of us.

We celebrated the big day with a BIG party at our house.  Mimi and Dadaw came in town for the special occasion and what a huge help they were!!  In spite of the number of people at our place I was surprisingly calm and really enjoyed the day spent with good friends and family to celebrate Sophia's big day!  I know that's in huge part to all the help Trey's parents gave on the front end and mine with the clean up on the back end.  Thankfully the weather worked in our favor too and the sun came out just in time for the party.  We had kids playing outside and babies inside and everyone seemed to have a great time!

When it was time for Sophia's smash cake she wasn't having it - but her expressions and reaction when Trey wiped icing on her face were priceless.  She really is a little princess and just didn't like being messy.  It was pretty funny.

She racked up on some great gifts and really was a little star for the day.  I think she was honestly overwhelmed with all the people and attention but seemed to enjoy it all.  And afterward, Carrie Beth, Robby and the kids stayed the night to enjoy some extra family time with Mimi and Dadaw so the party continued.  Sophia was so happy to wake up and see Handley and Harper in her room and I think she was a little confused when everyone left Sunday and our house was quiet.  She got used to all the excitement :)  All in all it was a great weekend of celebration for our little Sophia!
