Will's Nursery

Anyone who knows me well knows I love to decorate and plan.  One of the hardest things of this pregnancy was not knowing what name our baby would have but I decided last month I couldn't wait on Trey any longer to make a decision and started really putting up decoration in the nursery.  I hung things on the walls and bought letters for both of our top names (Will and Jackson) to put a monogram above the crib and it was such a gratifying moment this weekend finally getting to put a W on the wall.

This nursery has been a work in progress and I can't say it's what I envisioned.  I think the room is a little small for all the furniture we have in there but I do love that we were able to repaint Trey's old furniture and pass it down to Will and I love the aviation touches to the room.  I guess I wasn't completely satisfied because we weren't able to put in the bumpers my mom made (the ties didn't fit right) and it just seemed incomplete without them.  But like my mom said - it's a boy room so it didn't need all the frills we did with Sophia's room.

I also love the touches that remind me of my grandfather who was a World War II bomber pilot over Germany.  My dad was able to give me some replicas of the plane he flew that we have hanging over Will's crib.  I also have a clock with my grandfather's bomber squad on it and a neat picture my dad had framed of the famous Memphis Belle signed by the pilot who flew those 25 missions.  The plane was the first B-17 bomber to complete 25 missions with its crew in tact and was the same kind of plane my grandfather flew.

Anyway, I love the historical touches to the room and I really wanted to throw in a touch of vintage with old cars and teddy bears and found a neat suitcase to showcase some of my favorite teddy bears from when I was a kid and my nana used to buy me them as souvenirs from the famous Harrod's department store from their annual trip to London.

It's exciting to know Will be sleeping in that crib soon enough and I hope he loves his new room!

Love my little baby in his crib!
