Babies, Birthdays, and Braves

It's been a jammed packed summer for us and these past few weeks have been no exception filled with showers, parties, dinner clubs and sporting events. For starters, Trey and I have the cutest nieces and nephews in the world. Little Kevin lives right around the corner from our new house so I was excited when Lisa asked me to babysit. He's such a smiley baby and was no trouble at all. My sister in law Carrie Beth was even able to come over in the afternoon with my nieces Handley and Harper for a playdate. Kevin was a little timid at first but he warmed up and started having fun with the girls.

Next on the baby list was a shower for our good friend and neighbor Lisa, whose baby is due in September. Then, the next day I was able to throw a baby shower for my good girlfriend and bridesmaid Terrie. She's due around our anniversary (August 30) and is having a girl! (along with everyone else we know ;)

Then, to continue the baby saga my cousin Ali had her baby boy who just so happens to be my little godson. I'm thrilled for the honor and was so excited to meet him last week. He's a tiny little nugget and super cute.

As for the parties, we celebrated my oldest brother Jon's birthday and had our dinner club at our house this weekend. It was a success and we had so much fun with all our friends. Trey and I even managed to sneak in a last minute Braves game Friday with Racetrac's amazing seats and front row tickets with our friends Jamie and Katie to the Atlanta Tennis Championship Tournament on Sunday.

It's been a fun summer for sure!

My Lighthouse

A few months ago my girlfriends and I went to this painting place called Just for Giggles in Milton and followed along with an instructor while we painted a wildflower picture. It was so much fun and I have been talking with friends about going back there again. But- tonight I decided to have some fun on my own since Trey was out of town.

I went to Michael's on a good day. I was able to buy canvases and paint on sale and bought a little tray palette for the paints- all for $15! I printed off a picture from the website of Just for Giggles and tried my best to paint it. It turned out pretty good and I had so much fun playing with it. I can't wait to try another one.

Fourth of July in Wilmington

Everyone knows we love the beach and this weekend Trey and I had a great time catching some rays and relaxing with family in Wilmington. The highlight was when Handley kept saying "Happy Birthday America!" and then she asked Robby, "Daddy what's America?" Those girls are too cute. All in all it was a great fourth of July weekend and we can't wait to go back.

Harper loved to roll around in the sand... clearly ;)

Handley loved the water

Trey and I snuck in a morning ride before we left today and took the boat over to Figure Eight. It was so nice and relaxing. We were both glad we did that even though it meant we got home a little later than we planned.

Ali's Baby Shower

This past Saturday we had our first party at the new house- a baby shower for my little (well, taller, but younger) cousin Ali. It was a success and everyone had a good time. Can't wait to meet my little godson who's due July 11th! Little Kevin stopped by to bring Lisa's baby shower gift since she had to work. Just thought I'd throw some recent pics of him in.

My Best Friend's Wedding

This past week has been a blast with all the good news and weddings. Trey and I ended the week with our third wedding (in one week). My best friend Kelsey got married Saturday and it was so much fun! The entire weekend was one big party starting with a bridal brunch on Friday morning at Basil's in Buckhead. The rehearsal dinner was at City Club of Buckhead in the Atlanta Financial Center. The food was great and the view from the 18th floor overlooking Buckhead was amazing. Maggie and I also had fun roasting Kelsey during our speech.

The wedding was at Peachtree Methodist and the reception was at Cherokee Country Club. Everything was just perfect and the band was so good! People were dancing from the moment they walked into the cocktail hour. It was great. I felt like this weekend just went by like a blur and I'm so sad it's over. Kelsey you were a beautiful bride and I hope you have fun in St. Lucia!

Oh- and I have to say THANK YOU CARRIE BETH for doing my hair for the wedding. It lasted all day long and I really loved it. You're the best. :)

What a GREAT weekend!

It's amazing how one second can change your life....

I'm sure most of you know by now... but I just have to post about our crazy fun filled weekend and the news both Trey and I received on Friday. For starters... I PASSED THE GEORGIA BAR!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh woohoo!!!!

Truly there are no words to describe the flood of emotion that came over me when I found out on Friday around 4 pm. I was anticipating the flood works to come and bring me crashing down again, but nope- not this time. It was the BEST NEWS EVER! My best friend Maggie came over on Friday to work on our speech for Kelsey's rehearsal dinner (and I think she was just trying to distract me, which was good). We were working on wedding stuff for several hours and when 4:00 rolled around Maggie checked online and figured out before I did. I had just gone to the bathroom when she checked and I opened the door to find little Marfie standing there with a huge smile on her face. She jumped on me (literally) and started screaming I passed. It was the best moment ever and I'm so glad she was there with me.

And- I didn't just pass, I passed well (a girl can brag right ?) ! I guess I worried for nothing this time, but boy am I glad that's behind me now. Let's just say you can call me Stefanie Spivey, Esquire from now on ;) j/k

And... to add icing to the cake... TREY GOT A BIG PROMOTION at work! He's now a manager. I'm so proud of him. We definitely have a lot to celebrate now. And we got started by celebrating with our friends at 2 weddings this weekend.

The first pictures are from the wedding of my next door neighbor growing up- she had an Indian wedding and it was beautiful. The second are from our friends Bryce and Sarah who got married on a plantation in Covington. We had a blast at both of them and can't wait for the next wedding coming up this weekend.

Joyce and her father walking down the aisle.

Reena- the Bride's sister and I used to be best friends growing up. I hadn't seen her in 8 years. It was so great seeing her.

Trey got a little wet sitting on the edge of the umbrella, but he/ we still had a great time

Here comes the bride!
