Hard to believe as I write this I'm staring down the barrel at the end of the line to pregnancy #2. I'm about 3 weeks from my due date or should I say scheduled C-Section, one week from Sophia's 2nd birthday and I feel like time is flying by! So much to do and so little time. I know this blogging thing won't last for me but I made a promise that I'd try to at least blog through Sophia's 2nd birthday and hopefully through baby boy's 1st year. So here I go again.
Christmas - if I can remember details, was wonderful this year! Trey and I had so much fun watching Sophia open gifts on Christmas morning and while we knew she didn't really understand why she was getting all these presents, she was so excited to open them all.
Her favorite was one I knew she'd love- affectionately she calls "Woof woof." Everyone was laughing at me for buying it, because it's not the real thing but around here might be as close as she's going to get ;) It barks, walks, wags it's tail and has become Sophia's best friend. She just loves Woof woof.
She's also become a little mama lately so we bought her a baby set that included a mini pack n play, a jogging stroller and a high chair. She's been having so much fun playing with all her baby dolls and putting them all their new spots. It's fun seeing Sophia dress up her dolls, give them milk, try to feed them with her mini spoons, etc. I get a glimpse of what I think she'll be like when baby boy gets here and I think she's going to be a pretty amazing big sister.
Aside from that, she got lots of books, Minnie Mouse singing books (of course- Child is obsessed with Minnie these days and makes us watch an episode a day. She loves the end especially when they all get up and do the Hot Dog Dance... I think Dada likes that part too and they have fun dancing together).
Anyway, Christmas was a blast! We went to my parent's house that night and celebrated with all the Magid cousins and family and Sophia had fun marching around with all her cousins and opening more toys over there. Her favorite of the night was a new tricycle from Abuela and Grandfather (whom she affectionately calls "Grankow" or something that sounds like Krakow" haha
Next up - we loaded up the car the day after Christmas and headed to see Mimi and Dadaw in Wilmington. We had a great time celebrating Christmas with Trey's side of the family at the Musser gathering and they were all so sweet by throwing me a mini little shower for baby boy. He definitely got love showered on him all Christmas season.
Sophia got some fun puzzles, tea set and her favorite- a Scooter from Mimi and Dadaw. Child didn't know what to do with everything when we got home. Our house has definitely become toddler friendly and there are toys everywhere!
We wrapped up the holidays in Atlanta and celebrated NYE at our house. It was special because it's the first time in I can't remember that all my brothers were in town. Ryan couldn't make it for Christmas but he finally made it down for NYE and we got to meet my sweet niece Fiona. Sophia loved her and she's such a doll! I'm glad to have another girl on the Magid side for her to play with.
NYE was fun and low key. We all went to Orient Express for dinner hibachi style then came back to our place for a party with the kids. I couldn't believe how late all the older cousins stayed up but Sophia went down pretty easy and allowed mama and dadda to have fun with all the adults. I was glad to spend the night ringing in the new year with my family and we all celebrated in the morning with brunch before everyone had to fly home. Sophia had so much fun hanging out and playing with her cousins and it made me excited for summer when we can hopefully see everyone again!
| Sophia loved that Alex and Jon spent the night and got to watch Minnie Mouse with them in the morning and steal their clothes. She was quite the little ham. |
